Environmental Groups Join Hands in Bradley Beach in Protest Against Offshore Drilling

On Saturday, May 18, over 50 residents, elected officials and environmental groups joined hands in
Bradley Beach in opposition to offshore drilling and seismic testing. They locked hands to stand up against President Trump’s offshore drilling plan that would open 90% of America’s coastal waters to offshore oil and gas drilling. This was one of hundreds of synchronized events globally to raise awareness about the dangers of dirty fuels and the need to speed the transition to green energy solutions. New Jersey’s coastal tourism industry supports nearly 500,000 jobs and $44.1 billion dollars annually. An oil spill in the Atlantic would kill and harm marine life and devastate the clean ocean economy.
