Clean Ocean Action Applaud Gov. Murphy's NESE Pipeline Decision-Williams Reapplies

On June 5, the NJDEP denied six crucial permits for the NESE pipeline, including construction permits in wetlands, coastal, and flood hazard areas. In addition, the agency denied the Water Quality Certificate that is necessary for construction of the offshore location of the proposed pipeline running through the Raritan Bay. Clean Ocean Action applauds Governor Murphy and his DEP for denying these six crucial permits for the Williams/Transco Northeast Supply Enhancement Pipeline! While this is an important victory for the Bayshore, the denial ensures Williams will be back. Indeed, they have already made a statement to that effect. 

Clean Ocean Action will continue to fight against any threat to the health and wellbeing of the bay and ocean.
