Community Highlight: The Order of the Sand Castle inspires coastal stewardship and helps support Clean Ocean Action.

The Order of the Sand Castle is a coastal adventure written to inspire children and families to connect and
care for the beach and its marine life. 

Inspired by author Hannah Anderson’s childhood at the Jersey Shore, the story follows 9-year-old Sands and her magical sea-creature rangers who teach her how to protect the beach. The genuine relationship between human and nature stand to educate young readers through empathy rather than admonishment and to reflect the sense of magic we feel when we take a moment to appreciate nature’s wonders.
