Attend and SPEAK OUT at LNG Public Hearings!

NJ is currently facing the threat of ocean industrialization from liquefied natural gas (LNG) import facilities.  One of the projects, called Liberty Natural Gas, is going through the federal process of getting approval to be built.  This facility would be located 16 miles off Asbury Park with an on-land pipeline coming up through Middlesex County.  It would consist of 4 underwater snake-like turrets that will scour and damage up to 76 acres of seafloor habitat.  The LNG tankers are up to 4 football fields long and sources of LNG will be from Libya, Tunisia, Trinidad & Tobago.  The on-land pipeline will be 3 feet wide and go through one of the most densely populated areas in the region.  We can still stop this from happening.  Attend one of the upcoming Public Hearings that allows the public to comment on the project to express your opposition.

This is your chance to speak out for the ocean and oppose this harmful energy plan. Liquid natural gas (LNG) threatens our environment, our wallets, our safety, our energy security, and our way of life.

Please RSVP for the hearings on our website. If you cannot attend the meetings, but wish to express your opposition, you can submit written comments by Feb. 23.  Call the COA office to find out how.

Let your voice be heard!

LNG terminals off our coast are a serious threat and this hearing is our best chance to stop them. Please mark your calendar and make every effort to get your friends and family to this hearing.
