Department of Environmental Protection Hosts Two-Day Coastal Resiliency Summit

For two days the Wilson Auditorium of Monmouth University was filled with talks on coastal resiliency. The DEP in an effort to begin the process of creating the New Jersey Coastal Resilience Plan held the two-day conference to begin shaping what the resiliency plan should look like. The plan, when finalized, will inform and guide the State’s policies, regulations, resource allocations, and funding in the coastal zone to reduce impacts associated with climate change.

The Coastal Resiliency Summit was followed by the 14th Annual Coastal & Ocean Champion Awards Reception where The New Jersey Climate Adaptation Alliance honored Governors Thomas Kean & James Florio as National
Champions of the Ocean.
