COA Comments on Governor Murphy's Energy Master Plan

On July 17, the New Jersey Bureau of Public Utilities held the first public hearing to receive comments on the first draft of Governor Murphy’s Energy Master Plan. With the goal of 100% clean energy by 2050, Governor Murphy and his administration hope to invest in carbon neutral energy sources that will stimulate economic growth and job creation, while remaining affordable for all ratepayers. COA Policy Fellow, Kendall Keelen joined trade organizations, environmental groups, and concerned citizens at the hearing to testify on the plan. COA looks forward to working with the Murphy Administration to create a plan that prioritizes energy efficiency and conservation, while protecting the environment. The BPU will hold four more public hearings, six in total, in Newark and Camden. For info, visit the BPU website. The comment period for the Energy Master Plan ends on Monday, September 16 at noon. Citizens should submit comments to EMP.comments@bpu.nj.gov.
