Is there anything as cute as a baby Limulus polyphemus?

Yes, we love our baby seals, and penguin chicks are fuzzy and cute, but there is something to be said for that ancient arthropod, the horseshoe crab.  Their babies rarely make the top 10 list of “calendar cute” babies, but where do you think big horseshoe crabs come from?  That’s right, baby horseshoe crabs.

This Saturday, you will have a rare opportunity to see and learn about baby horseshoe crabs at Patagonia’s Upper West Side store in New York City.  We hope you will stop by and learn about horseshoe crabs and how Clean Ocean Action’s work to improve the water quality of the marine environment has helped keep these creatures alive and well (at least for 27 of their 250 million or so years of existence).

While you are there, please cast your vote for Clean Ocean Action as a part of Patagonia’s Voice Your Choice campaign.  From now through March 31, every time you stop in the Patagonia Upper West Side store, you can vote for Clean Ocean Action as your favorite of three local organizations featured this year.  If we get enough votes, we will receive a $2,500 grant from the store.
