Welcome, Amanda Wheeler!

COA is thrilled to welcome Amanda Wheeler as Volunteer and Education Coordinator. Amanda’s love for the Jersey Shore runs deep, and she takes every opportunity to protect the environment-- from life-style to community leader.  She is a creative and successful teacher, having taught students Spanish and French for 35 years in grades 6-12.  Now retired, Amanda was the advisor for the Multicultural Club, Environmental Club, and Annual Talent Show.  She also led student trips to Spain and France, and  served as an Affirmative Action Representative.

Amanda is innovative, creative, and environmentally proactive.  As a community leader in her hometown of Bradley Beach, NJ, she has been participating in environmental advocacy for over 25 years. Amanda served as a member of the Environmental Commission and has been a COA Beach Sweep Captain for nearly 20 years. Amanda’s inspiring and organized methods result in successful events, community outreach, and successful programs.

Amanda sees the problems of the world as teachable moments and each day motivates people to make a difference. We look forward to working with Amanda!
